This one is unheated Montana sapphire with a pale blue-green color and visible natural structure.

Rather than cutting the stone into a standard calibrated shape, I cut it to preserve its original form. The asymmetrical faceting follows the character of the rough, allowing the sapphire to retain a stronger connection to the material as it came from the earth.

The sapphire contains natural inclusions and internal growth features that catch and diffuse light throughout the stone. These structures create depth and variation that shift as the ring moves through different lighting conditions.

Its color sits between pale blue and soft green, giving it a cool, understated presence that feels distinct from the darker tones often associated with Montana sapphires.

The stone measures approximately 10mm x 7mm and is set in solid 14k white gold. Four sculptural prongs secure the sapphire while keeping the form open and allowing light to move through the stone. The gallery and band feature an organic lattice structure that has been individually refined and finished by hand.

This is a one-of-a-kind piece. I cut the stone, created the design and completed all finishing work myself; only the casting process was outsourced.
