This one-of-a-kind ring is built around an unheated Montana sapphire that I cut and set by hand.

Rather than emphasizing strong color, this stone draws attention through its internal landscape. Pale blue-gray tones combine with natural inclusions and crystalline structures that create depth throughout the gem. Depending on the light, it can appear icy blue, silver-gray, or almost translucent.

I cut the sapphire to preserve its natural character, using asymmetrical facets that work with the shape of the rough rather than forcing it into a standard calibrated design.

The stone is set in sterling silver using an open sculptural setting that allows light to move through the sapphire from multiple directions. The pierced gallery and patterned band reduce weight while maintaining strength and visual complexity.

Every part of this piece was designed around this specific stone. No molds or stock settings were used.
