A luminous natural moonstone with a vivid blue flash, recut by hand in my portal-cut style and set in an intricate sterling silver framework.

This pendant began as one of my earliest creations, piece #10. After developing my stone-cutting, setting, and finishing techniques across more than 100 pieces, I returned to it, removed the stone, recut and polished it, then carefully refinished and reset the entire pendant.

The result is a one-of-a-kind piece that carries both the history of my earliest work and the skills I have developed since.

Full description

The moonstone has been shaped with a smooth cabochon-like portal across the front, allowing light to enter the stone and reveal its internal texture and strong blue adularescence. Natural inclusions and internal features remain visible and are part of the character of the gemstone.

The sterling silver setting was designed around the stone rather than forcing it into a conventional shape. Its open, web-like structure surrounds the moonstone with flowing ribs, irregular latticework, wrapped details, and individually finished prongs.

I selectively burnished and polished the raised surfaces so that light moves across the silver while the recessed areas retain their organic texture. The result is bright and reflective without losing the sculptural character of the original casting.

This is not a mass-produced pendant or a newly manufactured reproduction. It is an early piece from my development as an artist, carefully restored and completed using the best abilities I have today.
