Portal Cut Montana Sapphire Ring – Blue Teal Sapphire – Sterling Silver – One of a Kind – Size 5.75

At the center of this ring is a Montana sapphire with a deep blue to teal color and visible internal structure.

The stone was cut using my portal cut approach. The top is faceted, while the body follows the original contours of the rough rather than being forced into a standard geometry. As light moves through it, the stone reveals depth and variation within, rather than a single flat surface.

Natural inclusions catch and scatter the light, creating a shifting internal texture that gives the sapphire movement and character.

The stone measures approximately 7mm x 6mm and is set in sterling silver. The stone is set in sterling silver within an open gallery that allows light to pass through, enhancing its depth and internal structure. The prong setting keeps the form open while holding the stone securely.

The band features a sculptural lattice structure that has been individually refined and burnished by hand. Raised edges catch the light while recessed areas create contrast and depth. The surface carries a soft satin finish that complements the cooler tones of the stone.

This is a one-of-a-kind piece. I cut the stone and completed all finishing work myself; only the casting process was outsourced.
