A softly colored natural spinel is set in a one-of-a-kind 14k gold ring designed around the exact shape of the stone.

I cut the spinel to preserve its irregular outline and natural character, then created the setting to follow it closely. The stone shifts between pale pink, lavender, smoky rose, and silvery mauve depending on the light.

The warm rose gold brings out the softer tones in the spinel, while the open lattice band adds detail and structure without overwhelming the stone. The setting sits relatively close to the finger, giving the ring an integrated, sculptural feel.
