Unheated Montana Sapphire Ring — 10.77 Carat Hand Cut in 14k White Gold

This ring features a 10.775 carat unheated Montana sapphire that I personally cut and finished, set in solid 14k white gold.

The sapphire displays a deep teal to blue body color with a subtle responsiveness to its surroundings. It reflects and absorbs ambient color and light, giving it a shifting, fluid appearance depending on the environment it’s in.

Within the stone, natural silk inclusions catch and move with the light. As the ring is turned, this creates a soft internal motion that adds depth and character without overpowering the stone.

The stone was cut to preserve its natural character, only the top is faceted, while the underlying form follows the contours of the rough as it came from the earth. The setting was designed specifically around this shape, allowing the gold to echo and support those natural lines rather than forcing the stone into a standard geometry.

Openwork along the sides allows light to pass through, enhancing the sapphire’s depth and movement. The multi-prong structure keeps it secure while maintaining an organic, slightly rugged feel.

This is a one-of-a-kind piece. I cut the stone and completed all finishing work myself; only the casting process is outsourced.
