The girdle was left intact, preserving the original outline of the stone.

The setting was designed specifically for this Montana sapphire (approximately 7 × 6 mm), with the structure shaped to support and protect the stone while allowing light to interact with its surface and internal texture.

The sapphire was cut to follow the natural character of the rough rather than forcing symmetry, preserving subtle variations in the material. The perimeter of the stone remains as it was when found in the earth.
