This pendant began as a natural Montana sapphire crystal that I hand cut to preserve its organic shape while revealing the remarkable landscape hidden within.

Rather than fitting the sapphire into a standard setting, I designed the pendant around the crystal's natural outline. Flowing vine-inspired forms weave around the perimeter, rising into six sculpted prongs that secure the sapphire while allowing light to enter from every direction. The result is a design that feels as though it grew around the stone instead of being imposed upon it.

The sapphire measures approximately 9 mm across, making it a substantial centerpiece while remaining comfortable for everyday wear.

Every step of this piece—from cutting the sapphire to designing, casting, finishing, and setting the pendant—was completed in my Oregon studio.
