Hand Cut Blue Tourmaline Pendant in 10k White Gold

This one-of-a-kind pendant is built around a hand-cut blue tourmaline set in solid 10k white gold.

The face of the stone was cut and polished while portions of the original crystal structure remain visible throughout the stone and along the sides. Rather than removing those natural features completely, the setting was designed to preserve and frame them.

The tourmaline shifts noticeably with lighting. In direct light it becomes bright electric blue, while softer lighting reveals deeper blue-green tones and layered internal textures. Natural internal structure catches and scatters light throughout the stone, creating movement and depth that changes as the pendant turns.

I cut the stone first, then designed and finished the setting around its shape and character. The open gold structure allows light to pass through the stone from multiple directions while keeping the pendant balanced and wearable.

This is not an eye-clean stone. Visible internal structure is a defining part of the piece and contributes to its individuality and visual character.
