Hand Cut Almandine Garnet Solitaire Ring — Sterling Silver, Sculptural Design item 1036

This ring was designed to live in shadow as much as light.

It features a hand-cut Almandine Garnet set in a sculptural sterling silver setting, shaped specifically around the stone rather than forcing symmetry. The cut follows the natural character of the rough, preserving subtle variations and internal depth that shift between deep crimson and near-black depending on the light.

The girdle was left intact, maintaining the original outline of the material as it was found. Rather than maximizing brilliance, the cut emphasizes depth and saturation, allowing the garnet to reveal its color gradually as light moves across its surface.

The setting was built directly for this stone, with a protective silver structure that wraps and supports the garnet while allowing light to enter from multiple angles. Polished surfaces contrast with intentional texture, creating a tension between refinement and raw material.

No molds or stock components were used. This ring exists as a single finished piece and will not be reproduced.

The sterling silver has been deeply oxidized and selectively polished, creating shadowed recesses that heighten contrast and allow the garnet’s crimson glow to emerge from darkness.
